Voting in the 2026 Municipal Election

Your voice matters, and this year there is an important change to how advance voting works in Oshawa.

There will be no traditional in-person advance polls for the 2026 municipal election. Instead, advance voting will take place online. Election Day remains Monday, October 26, 2026. The City is encouraging all voters to confirm their information well in advance so they are ready to cast their ballot when online voting opens.

Check That You're Registered

The most important thing you can do right now is make sure your name and information are on the voters' list.

Visit the City's election page to:

  • Check whether you are registered to vote

  • Update your address or personal information

  • Learn how online voting will work

  • Find important election dates and deadlines

Be Ready Before Voting Opens
